Not Phone Fun +

Cin and I are getting tired of updating our phones but..the previous phones barely worked. The reception was terrible with pretty much text only going through. So, we went back to Cricket who gave us each a Motorola Power instead. It’s nice, it’s a well-known brand and…it works!

Other than that, let me tell you about the book deal I got at Smiths today… Kroger, for some of you. While waiting for my prescription, I was perusing the books and saw a few with stickers reading ‘List Price $1.99’ so I picked one up. The register rang it up as $7.99 so the girl got the Manager. The Manager said she had never seen that sticker before, but they sold it to me for the sticker price of $1.99! Truthfully, I think an employee may have screwed up when marking some of the books, but, I am definitely not complaining.

Angry At The Source

Before I start this, I have an important Prayer Request:

My friend, Cin, is going to the doctor today to get a Lump on her Breast checked out. Please pray it is nothing or minor. Her appointment is in 1 1/2 hours. 1:00 p.m. Las Vegas time.

As for the title, Here is the situation:

Hot Topic does not communicate with the bank they do business with. Comenity! If you have a billing or payment issue, you need to call the bank, directly.

Comenity is refusing to take responsibility for their action of doing a Hard Pull which affected my credit report, after telling me it was their system error! They actually sent me a notice saying they will not fix this issue, as it would be a ” Good Will Gesture”. NO, it would be fixing their error! I am still waiting to see if Experian can fix things with them.

Anyway, I still like Hot Topic and will continue to purchase from them but will Not use their card. It will be Cash or Debit from now on! Comenity also is behind the cards of Victoria’s Secret, Wayfair, Woman Within, and more!

So, the moral of this is; Do your research on the bank before signing up for the store card. Plus, when you get angry with a company, be sure it is with the right department!

I have now chosen to avoid cards backed by Comenity Bank, and I hope others do too.

Thrifting

Do you enjoy shopping at Thrift Stores?  I do.  You can actually find some nice things.

Cin and I went to the Goodwill today, as I had another full bag to donate and decided to walk around since we had never checked out that one.  It’s large and part of a nearby Mall.

At first, I was surprised because for it being large, a lot of the shelves were sparse.  Then, I noticed why.  As fast as new items are being placed, people are snatching them up.  It’s crazy!

I usually go for the books, but unless it’s one I really want, $1.99 seems a bit expensive for a paperback.   I did find a deal on something I really needed!  A Samsung Television Set with Remote from 2015 for $44.99.  My television set is really old and the volume barely works anymore.  It’s an LG.  But, this new set is really nice and I don’t have to turn it to max and sit close to hear it!  Plus, the picture is amazing! A gentleman who was standing near us as we were checking it out said he would purchase it, if I didn’t.

I also got this guy for $2.99

Isn’t he cute? I am not much into sports, but, being originally from California; he brings back memories of the Angel games I attended, plus, he’s Purple!

Cin does crochet and found some inexpensive yarn, while there.

What fun things have you found while Thrifting?

Online Clothing

If you’re like me, you don’t like buying clothing in stores and never have..even before this pandemic and quarantine business. The fitting rooms in stores are small and dirty most of the time plus the lighting is nowhere near the same as your house. But, you still want clothing that fits well and is fashionable and stylish to you.

I enjoy online shopping and I like unique clothing. I was never the trendy type. My mom taught me that by Always buying from the clearance rack..but that’s another story. Some day I will tell you about the Ditto jeans fiasco…

Anyway;

I found a shopping site, I had never heard of before and they have some cute clothing. It’s called Breezecloth.com and it is a small company that just started up. Supposedly, the owners started it in the U.S. but the clothing is actually being made in Hong Kong and maybe China…That’s another thing, why is all the totally, cute stuff made in China? It makes buying mainly American brands, quite boring….Anyway, I did some research and contacted the company before taking the risk. I also used PayPal so as to pay safely. The problem is, you cannot find this company via Google or Yahoo and since it is so new, there is not enough interest for any actual ratings, yet. I will let you know if and when I receive my orders. I just pray this company is legit.

Since this post is about online clothing; what sites do you recommend? Especially from my female Followers. I love Vintage and unique, type fashion; but anywhere you suggest would be cool to check out.

Gifting Obsessed

I admit it. I am Obsessed. I love getting gifts for people. I have so much fun finding the perfect gift for a Birthday or Holiday. One that reflects me yet, helps the recipient to have a wonderful celebration!

My friend Bri and I used to always try to top each other with weird gifts..at least until a few years ago. However, I have done it now! He is turning 60 and I am sending him a Potato Parcel. Yep, it’s exactly as it sounds..a funny box containing a potato with a message on it. I also added a plush potato since I am sure the real one will rot eventually.

Anyway, I keep lists of friends likes and dislikes as well as lists of what I’ve given the year before so as not to give duplicates. I would probably make a good personal shopper via internet for those that don’t have time. But, I would need to figure out how the payment aspect would work..or I suppose I could simply make recommendations.

I used to put boxes together for victims of fires, floods, etc..I would mail them to the city that was damaged and then started asking for acknowledgments of where they were received. I remember the first box I mailed contained a skirt and a flower pot. My mother thought I was being ridiculous..but you don’t know what people miss when they have lost Everything! Anyway, after 9/11 hit, I couldn’t mail my boxes without a specific name or address.

I did help a few locals after nearby fires but I had to sneak so the Red Cross didn’t see me. Now with COVID, that’s not possible. That was another possible at home idea, but of course, that’s charity and no way to make money.

I recolored my hair today and I love it!

Found Zorro, Etc..

Zorro is up for adoption. Finally, the organization has him on the web site. They lied about the circumstances though by saying he was let go due to Covid. I think Covid is getting blamed for everything. Next time I have a Migraine, maybe I should blame Covid. Wait, that wasn’t funny. Headaches are a symptom.

Have you ever used Wish or Tophatter or similar apps to shop? I have noticed Wish has been upping their prices without warning. And, their Return Policy sucks, too. Two things I received were not what I ordered and C. is out like $50. for something she ordered that never arrived.

I really need to stick to more US based companies.

Better Then Yesterday

The UTI has cleared up but this morning was sinus.  After sleeping with the cats til noon, I finally got my butt out of bed and made it to the store.  Luckily, the Dollar Tree carries generic Zyrtec.  On the way home, I bought a small sandwich from Port-Of-Subs ; finally having a meal…also, taking my last GlutenEase.  I know I haven’t been eating well which isn’t good; but on the other hand when you don’t feel well, you don’t want to eat.

My neighbor down the way gave my neighbor next door some cute clothes to sell at her Yard Sale so I bought a skirt.
