Made A Major Decision/Purchase

Quick review for those that are new:

I lived in a mobile home park for the last 3 years and the rent climbed until it was unaffordable. I sold my mobile home and put money in the bank with the intention of using it as a down payment on a condo or townhouse for which I am FHA approved. In the meantime, I moved in with my friend C. and my cat, putting my stuff in storage and my other two cats in a Pet Hotel.

Next week will be a month and Nothing is available! C.and I are both losing patience and I want my babies back so…

I found and purchased a 25 foot Trailer. I will soon be able to get my babies back. I will need to get a Handyman to do a couple things, though. There is a Lot available here and the Space Rent is only $378 a month. Plus, my Trailer Lot # will be the exact same as C’s. Just a different street name. How cool is that?!

The Cons of this are;.

I may need to Downsize some more.

I will probably need a shed.

It’s not exactly larger, like I wanted.

There really wasn’t another option.

Pro’s:

Space Rent is definitely affordable.

I can save for a car and/or a bigger place in the future.

It has a Bathtub

My little family and I will be back together!

I will be close to Cin, but, we won’t be in each other’s space.

I’m sure I can think of more Pro’s. I’m just a bit nervous at the moment. But, as usual, I have Faith. It doesn’t look like the housing market will turn any time soon, so, this is the best choice, at present. Plus, in a few more years, I will see where I am at, financially.

I should add that I am Grateful to get my family and my privacy back, soon.

Weather, Observations, & Memory

It’s a majorly, windy day here in Las Vegas and the wind is cold! Please pray it isn’t windy or rainy on Saturday, when I actually move!

Speaking of moving, I love watching other people move. I don’t even mind helping. Seeing what people own gives you a glimpse of their lives. The neighbors were back, yesterday, and moving out more stuff. Leather Sofas, a Dresser, a large Television Set and plenty of toys for their two little ones. These are the neighbors across the way, that I thought were already gone.

I remember years ago, I helped my apartment neighbor move. She was a major Hoarder and had boxes and boxes of things never opened; as well as brand new clothes that would never fit her size. I found a really pretty dress that was my size and I took it. Yes, it was stealing. But, in my defense, she wasn’t paying me and when I said she could keep a few things at my place, she put so much in, my cats and I literally had a pathway and it was a fire hazard. I had to get a friend to take all her crap to her parents place which was a half hour or 45 minute drive, to get it to her! I did buy a Rocking Chair from her, though..and have since asked and received Gods’ Forgiveness for that theft.

Migraines, Moving & Holidays

It’s been a bad start of the month with Migraines. Between the Flu Shot, Cat Stress and a Dirty Heater Vent.

Yesterday was a Double! But no more side effects from the Flu Shot, I am using extra blankets, and no reason to stress over the cat situation. I have booked rooms (Kitty Cottages) at a Pet Hotel called, Animal Inns. They have great reviews and take all types of animals! I recommend checking out the website. Plus, Monkey and Tara will be able to see each other and have playtime together. Monkey isn’t much for sharing a room though, so I couldn’t book them, together. I am looking at this as Vacation Time for the animals!

Plans have changed a bit. Suzy is going to Cin’s a few days, prior. Monkey and Tara go to the hotel on Friday, and Saturday, the big move takes place. This is in two weeks.

Still debating on movers or help from workers in front of Home Depot, etc.. Can anyone in Las Vegas recommend reasonable local movers?

I can’t finish this without observing what today is:

Columbus Day

and now,

Indigenous Day

Any parades scheduled to celebrate either? Or, is it just another whole group of people that can be happy their group will be acknowledged per the Calendar?

Expensive Popcorn & Life

Most of the movie theaters in Las Vegas are located in a casino. So, if you are a Gambler, the smell of theater buttered popcorn wafts toward you until you finally decide to give in.. until;

I go to the counter and order a small, buttered popcorn. I have a $5. bill to pay and the guy repeats my order and goes “Your total is $7.90”. I thought he was joking! I sort of giggled and said, “Yeah, Right.” and he goes, “No, really. It’s $7.90”. I go, “Never Mind. I am not paying $7 dollars for Popcorn.” and I came home and made it myself.

Well, the house has been sold again for what I hope is the final time. They are going to turn in the Background Check tomorrow. I am going to believe this is going to be the final time, as I continue to pray that it is.

Dull Day

The weather was blah and so was I.

Had a long talk with my Realtor. There is seriously Nothing out there in my price range! However, the eviction ban is lifting starting tomorrow, I believe..so…

Something may open next week in the park where Cin lives for under $500. It would be super small, but better than a hotel, for a while. I am also considering an apartment for a year or so..but, even those are super high!

I know I said I wasn’t going to stress. But, I am Human so I do, anyway.

Also finished a book today and had a Migraine. Figured I would get one after reading like 3 hours straight. Maybe, I will do a review on it, sometime. It was really good.

7 Vegas Years

As of yesterday, I have lived in Las Vegas, NV for 7 Years (-5 months in AZ which was a waste of time).

Despite the weather at times, I still love it! The lights, the activity, the people! Even if I didn’t gamble, it’s fun to check out everything in the different hotels and casino’s.

Las Vegas is ever changing so things I remember from visiting when young are long gone, replaced with different things.

Do you like where you live? If money were no object, would you move somewhere else? As much as I like it here, sometimes I wonder about Europe like Austria. The houses are so pretty there in their little villages; but, then I wonder if I would get bored like I did in Arizona, once again coming back here. I have also considered Florida, but, there is to much rain and the size of the bugs there would keep me inside.

Doing a lot better than yesterday, but still a bit tired, so taking it easy, again.

More Rain 🌧️

While not enough to cause a dent, at least it’s here. It’s enough to get my windows and parts of the ground wet. Plus, I saw lightening in the distance, too.

Nothing really exciting, today. Went for my walk to the mailbox since it was a bit cooler than usual. Plus, checked on my neighbor since a police car was in front of her house, yesterday….Turns out, her neighbors fight a lot so they were there for that. Not her house, after all.

Visited with TR who I haven’t seen in a while…Cleaned the back room, caught up with phone calls, did some reading and tv…the usual..

And ending my day with this report to you.

Hope your day was good.

Blaming The Heat?

I almost forgot to Post tonight. Maybe the heat is getting to me. Lol. In truth, though, it is 111 F right now at 10 p.m. You won’t hear me complain about it much, though because that is one of the reasons I moved to Las Vegas in the first place!

Here’s a quick, music question for you:

Name a song that you were hearing/singing the wrong lyrics until someone corrected you.

Please don’t say ‘Blinded By The Light’s unless it’s the only one you can remember.

Mine is titled; ‘Oxygen’. The actual lyrics are, “Love is like Oxygen, You get to much, you get to high…’. For years, I thought it said, “Love is like Hotsy Plunge..”. I was like what the heck is a Hotsy Plunge?

Looking forward to hearing your misheard lyrics in the comments.

* I would also love to hear your definitions of a Hotsy Plunge. HA
