My turn to share…
Paul says: Tell me about you and food. What do you like to eat? What don’t you like to eat? What foods are overrated? What condiments do you stay away from? Any fun food stories from your past?

Let’s see, I am a Flexitarian which means I am a Vegetarian but I also eat Fish and Chicken, occasionally.  When, I did eat meat, I enjoyed Liver. I have always been a picky eater… partially because I have a rare, metabolic disorder and most food would cause me to hurl…. but as I grew older I have branched out to a lot of different cuisines. I love Italian, but not Tomato Sauce.. although, I do like Tomato Paste. I think the main cuisines I am not overly fond of are Hawaiian and Mexican. Although, there was the time we went to a Luau in Hawaii and I finished my and my parents Poi before they explained what it was. I really couldn’t figure out why they served Chocolate Pudding before dinner. HA!

Anyway, I believe I Bolded my answers.

Check out, The Captains Speech if you want to participate.

Learning Saturday

You’ve all heard the expression “You learn something new every day.”. Well, I have chosen to take it a step further. I am going to share a few new things each Saturday that I learned during the week. You can join me in the comments.

Let’s start today, shall we:

A friend of mine had Hemmhorroids really badly and went to the doctor where he rubber banded them so they will fall off. Needless to say, I learned about that procedure.

I also learned the difference in colored verses white Cauliflower. The colored Cauliflower has more vitamins and antioxidants, then the white.

Lastly, I also Googled and learned about Monkeypox. There is a case in Texas, now.

Okay, tired now. Looking forward to reading about anything new you learned or did.

Eater Types & Question/Challenge

Hide and I went to lunch today and it was delicious!

We went to Vegenation where I had the Pamela Anderson Tacos and Hide had the Tori Williams Burrito! She had so much left, she sent half of it home with me, because her husband doesn’t like a lot of greens.

Everything the restaurant serves is Vegan.

Vegetarian means you eat all or mainly Vegetables. There are different types of Vegetarians of which I am Flexitarian as, once in a while, I will eat Chicken or Fish. Vegan, on the other hand, means you cannot eat any part of or anything that comes from an animal; which includes Cheese, Eggs, Milk and Butter. Going from Vegetarian to Vegan should not be a huge jump, but what do you use for Butter substitutes that taste even close?

I had a blogger friend comment that he would be a bad Vegan; so, here is my question and maybe Challenge…for all my meat loving friends.

Have you ever tried going Vegetarian or Vegan? What happened?

What’s the longest you’ve been without Meat?

And, if you haven’t tried it, would you consider trying it and making a blog post about your experience?

Today & Movie Review

Woke up feeling Flu-ish this morning then a Migraine hit at noon; but doing better, now. Ordered some fresh food from Amazon to be delivered tomorrow, which should help also.

Watched a movie with C. the other day which I Don’t recommend. The funny thing is I believe one of the Bloggers I Follow suggested it. It’s called ‘The Stuff’.

The movie starts with someone finding this ‘Stuff’ in the snow and eating it. Apparently, it tastes really good. Then, it switches to the Marketing frenzy, people acting really weird and dying from it, a little boy who decides it can’t be made anymore, a company take-over, and more. There is some action. I kind of take back my recommendation..if you are really bored or just want to watch a weird, semi-blah movie..go a head and watch it… The only thing that sucks is; there was supposed to be a 2nd movie after that. I wouldn’t know how to find it unless it’s called ‘More Stuff’.

Now, this is starting to sound like a George Carlin sketch.

Quiet Payday

When your on Disability and get paid only once a month, the day it hits your bank means a lot. Since the rent was covered with the last Stimulus; it was nice to pay off almost all debts and get down to just the car payment. I say “almost” because I forgot a small bill.

I am stocked on food and I took out some money for the laundromat and to wash my car, so I am pretty well set, this month. Plus, I was even able to get a set of Vegetable Shaped Catnip toys. The cats favorite toy looks like Kale and reads ‘Kale Yeah’. They fight over it; the set has Carrot, Corn, Zucchini and Banana..to name a few. I am going to throw away a few of their old toys, once the new set arrives.

I still hope and pray we get another Stimulus Check so I can actually pay a head on the car and maybe put something away in Savings. I would also like to get some Migraine Patches to try, but have to wait on that.

This month has been the worst for Migraines and I don’t know why. Maybe stress over Jeans animals? I know they are not my responsibility, but my heart breaks that she gave them away and even more for that dog, as I really doubt they will adopt him out.

Prayers Please that I can give that situation to God.

Migraine Madness

Twas a Sinus/Migraine Day so slept for like 5 hours on meds. I had plans that obviously never came to fruition. Yep, I am into big words, tonight.

My Amazon Fresh delivery arrived and I can’t believe how rude the girl was. First she text and asks what the safe place is to put my order. So, I tell her by the glass door and I will stay inside. When she comes, she not only doesn’t acknowledge me through the glass with a look or a wave, she never knocks either. She just texts after returning to her car with, “Your order is dropped off.”. Then I discovered my Blueberries have totally come open and are all laying on the bottom of the bag. Thankfully, Amazon refunded that price back to ebt.

How I Am

It’s almost two in the morning and I woke up from having the Migraine from Hell, this afternoon. It sucks because anything can cause them….Stress, Weather, Health,…and your whole day is shot. It took 2 Imatrex or a full 100 mg pill to get rid of this one; which is rare.

I bought and made some horrible soup which I seriously don’t recommend. It’s Matzo Ball Soup by Streit. It is Gluten-free but it turned out tasting like salty, potato soup. When I say “Salty’ I mean it was like a bowl full of salt! Salt is not good for my kidneys. I put the leftovers in tbe refrigerator but unless there is something I can use to cut down the salt, I will have to throw it away.
