Do you Follow The Confusing Middle at ConfusingMiddle.com here on WordPress? Well, you should! They give these super cool weekly Prompts to write about.. like this one.
The subject of “Nothing”.
You know, there is really no such thing as Nothing. It’s seriously impossible to do. You will ask someone, “What are you doing?” and they will reply, “Nothing”. But, that’s a Lie! They could have been Thinking, Daydreaming, Sleeping, Peeing, Picking Their Nose, Watching Television, etc.. but I guarantee you they were doing Something! It might not have been important but physical Nothing is impossible.
Future Plans? “What are you doing today?”. “Nothing”. is also impossible. You just don’t know what you are doing yet. You haven’t set any actual plans, but once again, you will wind up doing Something, whether you like it or not.
I think the only way I can believe in Nothing is in the Biblical sense. But even then, there was Darkness, and God said, “Let there be light!” (Genesis).
A friend I Follow at The Confusing Middle….theconfusingmiddle.com…posts prompts every Wednesday and this week is “Independence”. If you haven’t checked out that blog, I highly recommend it. But Go After you read this! After all, I sent you there. That should mean something!
Okay, Now for my thoughts:
Independence Day aka (also known as.. for all you non-English people out there) is the day America celebrates it’s Independence! While I love the idea of the celebration and some of the things we do to celebrate it.. Potlucks,Parades, Festivals and even Store Sales..the one thing I don’t like is the fireworks! There are a few reasons I don’t like them. They’re noisy.. which makes my cats hide and there is no escaping a Migraine attack, But, the main reason is, they are dangerous. I fear fire. If a roof in the park catches fire, it will spread quickly plus, not a year goes by without some idiot burning a finger off, or setting an animal on fire. People go crazy with their “celebrating” with some even shooting guns in the air. Remember, what goes up, must come down, somewhere. Fireworks under controlled settings are okay, although, still loud.
I am proud to be an American and to be free to celebrate it, the way I want. I am just not proud of some of our Americans stupidity.
Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans!
The word for the week via The Confusing Middle is Cereal. You really should check out the site and take part in some prompts. Theconfusingmiddle.com
That being said:
I am not a Breakfast person. Never have been. When I was young, my mother said I had to eat something after getting up even if it was just a piece of cake. While I do enjoy pancakes, toast, hash-browns, crepes and Cereal, I do not necessarily eat them for Breakfast.
When it comes to cold cereal, I love Lucky Charms…What’s not to like? They’re magically delicious! Plus, they are Gluten-free. I become a kid again eating the Cereal first then enjoying spoonfuls of marshmallows. Sometimes, I will just eat it dry from the box, as a snack. I also like a few of the other gluten-free Cereals out there. Vanilla Oats or Pumpkin & Flax Seed. I feel good knowing I am making healthy choices with those. As far as hot Cereal, I grew up on Cream-of-Wheat and Oatmeal. I used to love Cream-of-Wheat until I became gluten-free and while Oatmeal is okay, I have to be in the mood for it.
Today is the 14th Anniversary of my Kidney Transplant, and in that aspect, I am doing fine. Not a party throwing occasion but I am still proud. God isn’t ready for me, yet.
A blogging friend at ConfusingMiddle here on WordPress has given the prompt of Neighbors, this week. If you haven’t checked out their blog yet, I highly recommend it.
Anyway, Moving Forward:
Years ago, they sang a song on Sesame Street or Mr. Rogers Neighborhood titled; “Who Are The People In Your Neighborhood.” The song was a bit off, though, because it focused on the Postman, the Policeman, and the Milkman. It made no reference to the Drug Addict, The Hoarder, or the Crazy Cat Lady…Not just me.
I think your Neighbors are the ones who live near you. In my case, in the mobile home park, I live in. If you live in an apartment complex, it’s those residents. The ones in the immediate vicinity of where you live.
I have talked a bit about my Neighbors, as some have become friends; like J. who is moving. Speaking of which, it is now Official, and she will be out and probably gone, next week.
Be sure and tell me if you sang the song I mentioned, and if you have it stuck in your head now
I usually take Sunday off from blogging but guess what happened?
As the title states, I had to stop Following a blog site. Why? Because I support President Trump!
Apparently, the blog author and her Followers do not and you aren’t allowed to have a different political stance. She outright told me if I was a “Trumpet” to “Go Away”! This type of thing is why people cannot live harmoniously!
It’s a flipping blog! People come from all life paths to read it. If you can’t even comment to strangers, how do they think we are all going to live peacefully in person?
She got pissed after I informed her that technically and legally Biden is not our President until the 20th. He is President-Elect.
I still hold onto hope that anything can happen in the meantime…probably won’t..but, it can.
I am feeling better today and have decided I don’t want to hear much more about politics for a bit. I am tired of stressing over what’s beyond my control.
This main post will cover a few memories regarding Houseplants. My blogger friend at Confusing Middle gives a different word or topic to post about every Wednesday. I highly recommend you check out the blog.
Anyway, Moving Forward:
I had a small plant that refused to die. I usually kill plants so it finally became my challenge. This plant fell off the balcony at least twice and ran out of water for a long time. Don’t remember what finally happened to it, but actually considered writing a book with that title.
The 2nd memory goes back to when I was a teenager/young adult. My parents went away and asked me to water the plants while they were gone. Now, my mother had fake plants right next to real ones. Needless to say, when they returned, one of them said to me “We really appreciate you watering the plants.” I said, “No problem.” and I believe the response was, “I guess not because Fake Plants Don’t Grow!”
I read and Follow a lot of cleaning and organizing, as well as Hoarding type blogs, to keep me on track and motivated.
The Holidays are the best times to do your major cleanouts because you have no idea what you will receive. You may think you will receive nothing, but isn’t Christmas about surprises? You never know just who might be thinking of you and get you something to show it. Plus, this is also the time a lot of organizations are asking for lightly used toys, clothing and household goods.
It’s the time for Good will and Good cheer.
