How People Think

Have you ever wondered how people think and turn out the way they do, or did?

Sometimes, I think I should have been a Sociologist or Psychologist, if that didn’t take so much schooling and memorization of Dates and the great Doctors and Scientists like Freud and Pavlov.

Anyway, that’s one reason I read a lot of the books I do. Books about Killing, Serial Killers, Books about People like Jim Jones and Adolf Hitler.

Hitler was actually quite intelligent until he got into the idea of Wars and The Perfect Race. He was the Black Sheep of his family and wasn’t afraid to do his own thing.

Child Killers and Parents who kill their children also fascinate me. Seriously, how does one get to that point? And for a child to have no remorse is beyond comprehension!..

So, what type of books do you like to read and what attracts you to the genre?

Wake Night, Sleep Day, etc…

Last night was weird. I didn’t sleep because my muscles ached and I couldn’t get comfortable. Don’t Ask!

Needless to say, today, I did not even get dressed. I was exhausted. I wound up eating and sleeping most of the day. I also developed a Migraine, but, I was free of them on the weekend.

Susy’s stuffed Bear arrived but it’s way to small for what she wants it for (Hump-A-Bear) so I will give it away and pick up a normal sized Bear from The Goodwill, soon.

I have been reading the book ‘Dracula’ by Bram Stoker, lately, and I have to admit I never knew how much it involved. I knew about Dracula being a Vampire but this covers a lot more than just Dracula, himself. If you like Vampire books and haven’t read it yet, I really recommend it. Vampire books aren’t usually my thing, but Dracula is a Classic and I got a good deal on it at The Goodwill, so I couldn’t pass it up.

Unfortunately, being as involved as it is, it is going to take a while to finish it, so I don’t know if I will complete my reading goal on Goodreads, this year.

Food & Book

I like to try new foods and, I came across a Gluten-Free, Dairy Free Lasagna made by Cal-Flout. It is all grain and made with Cauliflower. Now, I love Cauliflower. But, this stuff was horrible. It was seriously tasteless and even after adding Garlic Salt, it didn’t get any better. The consistency was more like an Omelette. Blech! Now I know one food to stay away from.

I just finished reading the book ‘Pilgrims Progress’s by John Bunyan. I happened to have a copy in with my books and didn’t remember reading it. Anyway, it’s interesting but written more for a child. It’s about a man named Christian who leaves his wife and family to go find God in the Promised Land. It talks a lot about the pitfalls and trials on the road, as well as, what and who to watch out for. I like the dialogue and the names..Mr Doubtful, Mr. Hopeful, etc.. I liked the idea of the book but definitely not the ending. It is a classic, I do recommend reading it at least once, if you like to read.

Late Christmas, Sickness and Bloganuary

Ame dropped off my gifts that went to my old house and I am grateful. She even included something from herself and her husband. But, two came without tags I know who sent the Book but not who sent the Oven Mitts so I have no idea who to thank! I Hate That!

I want to say I am feeling better but I am not sure. I have been going through sweats and headaches as well as, diarrhea today. Plus, my muscles ache. Hopefully, I will feel better, tomorrow.

While I am not officially participating in Bloganuary, I am answering a few of the questions if I find them interesting. And today’s was Who Is Your Role Model? or Who Influences You?- To be honest, my answer would be Jesus Christ! He was and is Perfect! I wish I could be as Loving, and Non-Judgemental as him. And Forgiving!

I watched a show about a survivor of the Guyana Tragedy in the 70’s who lost her Mother and Brother thanks to Jim Jones. She was happy and said her life changed when she became a Christian and forgave Jim Jones for all the murders. I was thinking, “Yeah, that’s easy to do when he is dead. It’s a lot harder than forgive those who have hurt us that are still alive”!

Everyone’s Pandemic

Most everyone I know has symptoms of COVID, knows someone that has COVID or has or has had COVID. Will any of us be spared? Reminds me of a book I read (don’t remember the title) about a couple who were the last ones to die in their town after a nuclear fallout. They had prepared themselves with Poison tablets so they wouldn’t actually suffer. COVID or Omicron will not necessarily kill you but..

Ben and his Roommate are both sick and are getting tested tonight. Cin is also sick but hers is more of a terrible Cold and she can’t find anywhere open to get tested. They are all booked. And I am still sick and waiting for my home kits to get here. Plus, Ame from my old Mobile Home Park texted. She wants to bring over my Christmas Gifts which got delivered to my old address, but discovered she and her husband were around someone who had COVID, so now They have to get tested, too!

Needless to say, it’s been another quiet day which is what I need with my throat being so sore.

Hope you all are well.

Two Questions

I figured tonight might be a good time to ask some Questions:

1. Tell me about one Christmas or Hanukah gift you received this year. It can be funny, ugly, weird or your best gift ever!

I’ll start:. While most of my gifts have not been received yet, I was quite happy to receive a $50. Petco Gift Card from one of my BFF’S in California. I haven’t used it yet, but it will really help in the future.

2. Since most Bloggers are also readers, I am curious what book you are reading now and do you think you will be finished with it by the New Year?

I am reading a book titled, ‘The Three’ by Sarah Lotz. It’s about four Airplanes that crash on the same day in different parts of the world and 3 survivors. It’s Fiction but you wouldn’t guess that the way it’s written. I just started it yesterday, so I doubt I will be done by the 1st.

Cloudy, Cold & Book Review

It was Cloudy and Cold today, so I didn’t bother getting dressed. I only opened my door when my new Wall Calendar was delivered. I prefer to choose my own, so I am glad nobody gave me one… unless they did and it’s part of what I haven’t picked up yet.

I emptied a box and moved some stuff around to make room for my Microwave/Convection Oven which might be coming tomorrow. That’s one box I don’t want to leave outside. In a few weeks, I will need to get my Handyman to come install it.

I finally talked to Tra yesterday. I have only talked to her once since I moved because I lost her phone number. Apparently, she got really depressed and sick this year at Christmas. If I lived closer, I would have checked on her. I am glad we are back in communication, anyway.

I did finish a book today titled ‘The Dolphin Song’. It was okay. Definitely a Young Adult/Teenage Book. It taught a little bit about Dolphins, but read a bit slow and the ending was rushed. I think maybe if you read the whole series, it would make more sense.

What Are You Reading?

I love to read!

Mainly True Crime, Serial Killer stuff but also a few novels, fiction like The Flowers In The Attic series, Survivor Stories and stories that explain how people think or tick.

I borrowed a book from my neighbor, titled ‘The Sociopath Next Door’…and yes, she lives next door! But, I digress . .. The scary thing about this book is; I see a lot of Sociopathic traits in my friend, Tra. Tra says terrible things about people! Example, she put on Facebook that she wishes she had aborted her daughter because her daughter accused her of being a racist, and a few other things. She Hates her sister and says she is dead to her; even laughing when bad things happen to her, She also Hates her neighbor as well as her not yet Ex-Husband and wishes them both dead. She believes if she Hates someone, you should too, or at least have nothing to do with them, and you can’t disagree with her much or you will hear her wrath. She also puts a lot of Whoa is me, my life sucks and no one likes me posts on Facebook which is a major sign of a Sociopath. They play into pity. She is one of those people who puts her whole life on Facebook, which, I personally, find ridiculous.

While the book does recommend staying away from people like that, I believe it is also good to just stay aware.

Tra and I do not get together to often and when we do, I pretty much just listen without taking sides.

So, back to the title and question:

What are you reading? And
Is it affecting your life?

Nice Day The Faithful Way

Yes, I know it’s Saturday.

This morning, I went to a Leàdership Seminar with a  couple of the girls from Bible Study.  I was so excited to finally be able to wear a dress after over a year!  I even wore make-up, which is very rare.

Unfortunately, I was the only one in a dress.  At first, I felt a bit overdressed, but, I figured;I am not a teenager anymore so it doesn’t matter. Plus,. I am myself and I was comfortable, so I had fun in it.

Since I don’t know when I will be attending church physically again, I still wish to attend on Zoom and other various websites, but, I wanted to attend this Seminar (and maybe a few more, upcoming) because I really want to lead a study on the book, ‘Boundaries’.

Yesterday Continuation Etc..

I would like to thank you all for your answers on Yesterdays Post and question if you are or are not taking the Covid Vaccine. It makes me happy when we can be adult and share our personal views without arguments and debates or name calling, etc.

My sister sent me a text of everything she believes the vaccines are made of which includes human tissue or blood and dead animal blood. I am going to make my own decision on this. I am doing my own research. I have an appointment scheduled for my first dose next week, and C. also got an appointment at the same place 15 minutes after mine. We also did the same for the 2nd dose in April.

In other news, I just listened to one of the Dr. Suess books which is being banned. “If I Ran The Zoo.” was actually being read aloud. My question is, “What’s wrong with it?” Sure, he mentions Mosques and Noah’s Ark, but I find nothing offensive, there. Maybe, it’s me but I am going to listen to the others also, that are considered Bad, if I can find them.

I believe we should have had a vote in this. I think most people think we are going overboard.
