Still Sick But Thankful

Took my Home COVID Test and it’s Negative. If I still feel like this tomorrow night, I will take the 2nd one. It’s probably the Flu.

All, I know is, I am tired of this. Tried to sleep and sweat on and off almost all day, Had a Double Migraine, and the Nausea was ridiculous. Just finished a mug of Soup, though and sucking on a Candy Cane now.

I remember when you were sick and you would see the doctor; if he couldn’t actually diagnose you, he would say it was a Virus..

In my case, it doesn’t help that with my Metabolic Disorder and weakened Immune System, when I do get sick, it lasts longer than most.

I was thinking though, and I am thankful to be able to feel pain, and to be normal enough to handle it. A lot of the children born with my Metabolic Disorder are unable to take care of themselves due to extreme physical and mental issues. I have surprised all the doctors for being as old as I am having been born with it,yet, being so close to Normal. The Disease I have is hereditary yet can skip generations.

Late Christmas, Sickness and Bloganuary

Ame dropped off my gifts that went to my old house and I am grateful. She even included something from herself and her husband. But, two came without tags I know who sent the Book but not who sent the Oven Mitts so I have no idea who to thank! I Hate That!

I want to say I am feeling better but I am not sure. I have been going through sweats and headaches as well as, diarrhea today. Plus, my muscles ache. Hopefully, I will feel better, tomorrow.

While I am not officially participating in Bloganuary, I am answering a few of the questions if I find them interesting. And today’s was Who Is Your Role Model? or Who Influences You?- To be honest, my answer would be Jesus Christ! He was and is Perfect! I wish I could be as Loving, and Non-Judgemental as him. And Forgiving!

I watched a show about a survivor of the Guyana Tragedy in the 70’s who lost her Mother and Brother thanks to Jim Jones. She was happy and said her life changed when she became a Christian and forgave Jim Jones for all the murders. I was thinking, “Yeah, that’s easy to do when he is dead. It’s a lot harder than forgive those who have hurt us that are still alive”!

Possible Exposure

No, I don’t mean Camera!

For the last few days, Cin and I have both been sick with sinus issues. Hers is mainly a runny nose, while mine is a scratchy throat, sinus headaches, fatigue, sweating,… Last night Cin called to tell me Ben’s family have COVID. I haven’t seen Ben since Christmas but Cin has and he spent time with his family the day after we got together with him for dinner. I have spent time with Cin. Needless to say, she is getting a COVID Test per her doctor and I bought a Home Kit which should arrive in a few days.

The other issue I am having is my old Primary who is Not filling the Anti rejection I Need! I have signed up with a new doctor and Pharmacy so I am going to call the Pharmacy and double check the price of Home Delivery before calling the new doctor. I pray he will simply call it in.

I got the toilet unclogged today. It’s funny the little things you can do by yourself when you have to. I borrowed a tool from the neighbors. Turns out it was actually the pole for their awning. But, I ordered an actual Toilet Snake.

Getting Saved, Etc..

My friend over at PurpleSlobInRecovery has been sharing a lot about her Christian Walk, and has requested I share my Testimony.

I was raised as a Catholic and was Baptized as a baby, but, that is not the same as a accepting Christ as my personal Savior! I have always loved to read and my mother kept giving me books. The books were about children in my age group…I was 13 at the time… and I soon discovered they all had the same ending. “Then, I discovered Christ as my Savior, blah.. blah.. blah.” It got to where I would read the last page first, due to the predictability. So, one day, I threw the book across the room and said, “Okay, God, Change Me!”. Mind you, I was 13! The fireworks or lightening I expected didn’t happen, so I was like “Okay, Whatever”. But, the next morning, it was like my world changed! I was seeing clearer and even smelling the flowers! More aware and grateful for the things God put around me.

PurpleSlob is adding something she is grateful for, in her daily Posts until Thanksgiving, so I have decided to try to do the same. I will try to add one thing at the end.

In other news- I was really sick last night and this morning, but am doing better. I hate being sick at other people’s places, but technically, I don’t have my own place, so…

In Good News- Cin saw a bunch of furniture by the Dumpster, so we are really hoping/praying the neighbors are moving soon so I can get my own place. Even small, it can’t be much smaller than the space I have here, plus, I can get my babies, back.

*While I know I complain a bit, I am grateful to Cindy for taking me in. I am sure it was hard to open her house to another person and their cat. That is a sign of a true friend, and I am thankful that God put her in my life.

Saturday Sharing

Still blah today, so I am going to have class, early. Looking forward to hearing/reading what everyone has learned.

While I usually go by week, I am going to expand the time, a bit..this week.

Most every night, I listen to The Gentle Whisperer ASMR before going to sleep. Her voice soothes me; especially as she teaches about Russia and the Russian Language. So, here are some facts about Russia to share with you:

1. Russia is the largest Country.

2. Russia has two main dialects.. Northern and Southern

3. Russia celebrates something called Banya which I believe is the beginning of Spring where people hit each other with tree leaves, then apologize and hug. They also eat Pancakes all day long. There is also a different day, I believe, where the body is warmed up by massages before immediately running into the cold, icy water of the River. I could be mistakes, as this might be the same Spring Celebration!

This week I learned that Van Gogh did some of his Art while locked in a Sanitarium.

And what happened to a lot of the cast members of Eight Is Enough.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Most of mine will probably be spent in bed.

Apple Prompt

The Prompt or word of the week at Confusing Middle is Apple. Before I get to it, why don’t you check out the Blog? It’s very interesting and fun. Tell him, Venus sent you. Then, Come Back!

As most of you know, I love to read. Mainly True Stories but a few Fiction Series, as well. The-Flowers-In-The Attic series is one of my favorites. For those of you who don’t know, it’s about 4 children who live in the attic of their Grandparents house and how they escape..or not..but, the books go further to afterwards and when the children grow up and have families of their own. ….What the heck does this have to do with Apples?..I’m glad you asked. Well, actually I am getting there….. In one of the books, a child gets a puppy and names it ‘Apple’! That’s the first thing that came to my mind when I read the Prompt. No, I am not going to tell you what happens to Apple or the children in later years. You need to read the books.

I’ve been sick today and almost went to the hospital. Okay, No, I just really considered it. It is mainly bronchial but with a sore throat, sinus and a terrible headache that wouldn’t quit. But, it finally did, and I took Mucinex, which I think helped a bit. Oh well..I was just thinking that I haven’t been sick in a while and it’s not like I had major (or any) plans this weekend.

Oh, and in case I forgot. Look what came yesterday!

I think it’s the most expensive pillow I have ever had. It’s Sealy with soft, Memory Foam on one side and Firm on the other. I think they call it ‘Alternative Memory Foam”.

Gain Before Pain

When I say Gain, I don’t mean weight Gain.  I mean accomplishment, etc… and when I say Pain….Well….

I got another box packed, more stuff put in the donation bag, and started cleaning the bathroom before being hit by a Migraine… probably sinus related..and needing a break.  This one came with coughing, sneezing, sore throat and a possible, swollen gland. Not to concerned, but, it still hurts when I swallow. Feeling a bit better with the Migraine gone but still have a few other symptoms. I am wondering if this could be weather related even though I stay inside. I try to use the fan a lot more then the air conditioner.

When cleaning the bathroom, I wound up scratching the toilet while removing some tough stains. Can anyone recommend anything to get set in stains from bathtub and cabinets that won’t scratch and is animal friendly?

Something, I have around the house already, would be perfect and purr fect, as well.

Sick Day & Others Beliefs

Has anyone heard of ‘Landmark’? I don’t know if I would call it a Personal Journey, A Religion or A Cult, but, I have a friend involved, so I did some research….(if this person is reading this; I am in no way trying to offend you..these are just my thoughts.).. Upon doing a few hours of research, one thing I learned is that this stems from Scientology which I will not get involved in. I have no problem with my friend being involved… except I do believe it may not end well… and will be there for her, in case…but..I prefer to keep my beliefs and not get involved. However, I do wonder if you have ever heard of anyone or if you, yourselves, experienced Landmark, and what you think?

On another note, Twas a sick Day, today….I really wanted to use the word, “Twas”.. Don’t Ask! Woke up dizzy, stomach pain and diarrhea. Didn’t start feeling better until after an hour and a half nap. I did eat a little. I am praying it’s nothing and I will be back to my usual, energetic self, in the morning.

But, as I was wiping down walls, earlier; I was condemning myself for not doing so, more often. They are really dusty and furry.. it’s no wonder, I don’t get sick, all the time.

Don’t worry, I have berated myself enough, so you don’t need to join in.

Unwell Today

Didn’t feel well, today.

Not really sure how to describe it.  Tiredness, Headaches, Scratchy Throat…Mainly a day of staying in bed plus eating and drinking.

That was after having a weird dream last night that I was sick with sinus issues and kept being accused of having Covid to the point where they kicked me out of a game at a Fair.

Don’t Ask.

Not Feeling Well

It started yesterday..Coughing, Sneezing, Sore Throat, Headaches, Congestion…This morning I hurt so bad I could hardly chew, but, still eating and drinking to kick this.

Got the new Cat Tree from J. Yesterday and cats seem to like it.

A bit concerned about Puma though, as she keeps hiding and facing the wall. I will be surprised if she sticks around for another year. She is 16 years old. I just hope if she does go, it happens naturally. I get so tired of having my final goodbyes be at a veterinary clinic.

Puma in my closet.
