A-Z Challenge-S = Secret Santa

I love Secret Santa, but not when people can’t keep it a secret. A lot of different places do it…the office, families and even Reddit.com.

The principle is this;

You put the names of all participants in a box, hat, whatever, set a price limit and have everyone fill a paper with their name, likes, dislikes, etc…then draw a name, individually. They cannot get themselves. Give them a date for the reveal.

Reddit.com has the largest Secret Santa in the world on the internet. You sign up for Reddits.gifts. Fill out a form, wait till Matching Day when you are randomly matched, get your gift sent out by a specific date and post a picture of whatever you receive. Reddit has Secret Santa Exchanges every few months with different themes like Cookbooks,Autos,80’s,Plants,etc… There is bound to be something you are interested in. But, the Christmas one is the largest with the most participants.

Forgive me since this was more factual then fun. I picked up Pumas’ ashes today and am a bit stressed so a Migraine has started. Going down with pain meds in a few. I put the box on the shelf in the bag for now as, I just can’t deal. Maybe, when I move, I will find somewhere to put her.

Yes, my mind is back on that despite not doing well at saving money. The house… okay, trailer…is being painted outside, next month.

A-Z Challenge-L = Lights

We can thank Edward Hibbard Johnson for the invention of Christmas Lights on a string as he wanted to put Lights on a tree but candles were to dangerous. Lights are not only a Christian tradition; reminding you of the star that the Wise Men followed but they also represent the other nightly stars. I love Christmas Lights.

Heck, I simply love Lights, period. That’s one thing I love about Las Vegas. The lights, everywhere. It is so very pretty here at night.

*It was a rough morning… especially at feeding time. I just miss Puma watching me as I dish out the cat food, while waiting patiently. She had the most, beautiful, gold eyes. I wish this pain would go away fast, but, it’s only been 2 days. I did get dressed today so my BFF and I could FaceTime. It’s the little accomplishments and taking things one day at a time.

First Vaccine Experience

Since my immune system has never been like others; I get reactions when most people don’t.  Which is what happened, yesterday.

C. and I were headed to our Covid Vaccine appointment when they called to reschedule; so we had an hour to kill.  We went to McDonald’s, then to Home Depot where I picked some color swatches for the house.  I think I will email them to the manager for approval

Upon arriving at the pharmacy, they checked us in and gave us a form to fill out which is simply a statistics sheet of where you fit in to be vaccinated..age range, race, reason (healthcare worker, disability, etc..).  The pharmacist gave the usual spiel…could cause this, that, etc.. before giving the vaccine, then you had to wait 15 minutes before leaving.  They set a timer.

Within 10 minutes, I was feeling a little dizzy.  That passed, but then I developed a headache which turned into a Migraine within a few hours plus muscle aches.  The Migraine finally stopped around 2:30 this morning after giving in to Imatrex around 10:30.  The main problem now is the cough.  It’s a dry cough and started some time during the night.  And of course, I have no cough medicine.

I have to believe if the first dose affected me like this, the next dose should be easier, or at least I know what to expect.  Maybe, I will just react opposite then most.

It’s a windy day anyway, so I am going to take it easy and stay warm.

Thoughts Verses Action

Woke up this morning with thoughts of things I need to start doing daily, again…like studying my Boundaries and my Bible, as well as set exercise.

I got one of two accomplished.  While, I did not partake in my half hour exercises like I need to get back to; I did move the refrigerator to clean behind it, so that should count for something.  I did spend a lot of time studying Gods word, today, as well as, talking to a friend from Bible Study on the phone about it.

On another note, did you hear about the lady and her brother that were attacked and killed during a Zoom call, in California?  I don’t know if it was her son but it was a relative and he is in custody.  Apparently, the woman was on the Zoom call and heard a commotion..the son or whoever was dragging her brother out of the house and stabbing him.  By the time the police got there, she had been stabbed to death too.  But, can you just imagine being part of that Zoom call as a spectator?  Even if you didn’t see anything, I am sure you would hear the commotion.

This world is out of control. I am interested to learn the motive, though.

What & Why I Watch

Ever since my BFF made a weird comment, I’ve been analyzing my interests and why I watch what I do.

I am interested in Cooking Shows because I like the creativity and competition. They encourage me to try new things. Plus, Worst Cooks In America makes me feel like a Pro. I like True Crime and Serial Killer documentaries because I was in an abusive relationship and don’t ever want to do that again…it was mental, but still abusive…., plus, it’s amazing how long it takes to catch these people. I like true stories about Polygamy, Cult Survivors, Homelessness and Weight Loss because I have never lived those situations

And lastly, I like shows and documentaries about Hoarding and Hoarders because I have had and have friends that are. I am learning how people think and process, as well as, how to be around them in their environments for long periods of time, also, as how to support them and help to encourage a healthier lifestyle. I don’t understand how so many Hoarders go from clutter to becoming slobs or why they don’t have pride in the items they possess. I mean, if you want to save it, wouldn’t you want whatever it is to be accessible and seen verses on the floor in a pile?

I collect certain dolls and knick-knacks. They are packed in boxes now for a future move but they are usually kept in a China Cabinet where I can see them and they can’t get ruined. I grew up in a very clean home. Heck, we had a Living Room we were rarely allowed to go in and two chairs in that room were antique and we were rarely allowed to use them. My BFF on the other hand, had the complete opposite upbringing and the smell from dirty dishes penetrated the environment. She is now a mother of 5 and I think two of the 5 have gone the clean route, one to the extreme, one is just like her or worse and the other two I can’t tell yet because they still live at home.

Anyway, I think I watch a lot of shows to learn and keep my brain cells firing, as I age.

Online Clothing

If you’re like me, you don’t like buying clothing in stores and never have..even before this pandemic and quarantine business. The fitting rooms in stores are small and dirty most of the time plus the lighting is nowhere near the same as your house. But, you still want clothing that fits well and is fashionable and stylish to you.

I enjoy online shopping and I like unique clothing. I was never the trendy type. My mom taught me that by Always buying from the clearance rack..but that’s another story. Some day I will tell you about the Ditto jeans fiasco…

Anyway;

I found a shopping site, I had never heard of before and they have some cute clothing. It’s called Breezecloth.com and it is a small company that just started up. Supposedly, the owners started it in the U.S. but the clothing is actually being made in Hong Kong and maybe China…That’s another thing, why is all the totally, cute stuff made in China? It makes buying mainly American brands, quite boring….Anyway, I did some research and contacted the company before taking the risk. I also used PayPal so as to pay safely. The problem is, you cannot find this company via Google or Yahoo and since it is so new, there is not enough interest for any actual ratings, yet. I will let you know if and when I receive my orders. I just pray this company is legit.

Since this post is about online clothing; what sites do you recommend? Especially from my female Followers. I love Vintage and unique, type fashion; but anywhere you suggest would be cool to check out.

Doing Nothing or Nothing Doing

I was going to say I didn’t do anything today but that’s not true. I ate, I wrote, I read, I brought the trash cans in, I took care of myself and my cats. I didn’t go to the mailbox to get my puzzles which arrived since I didn’t want to walk in the cold and wet weather…Yes, we got some rain. I also did some thinking:

I believe it’s impossible to do Nothing. It doesn’t matter if you are meditating, dreaming, sleeping or staring into space. Your mind and muscles still have to be working during those actions. Unless you are brain dead and paralyzed, we have to be doing Something! It might not be anything important to the life of yourself, household, world or even those around you..

.But, Just think? The next time someone asks what you are doing and you say “Nothing”, you are actually lying.

My Day, Today

Last night, my Karaoke Machine arrived! It’s a bit on the small side but the sound quality is good. The disk that came with it sucks, so I’ve ordered one with better songs.

Today, C. and I went to Walmart and I have an eye appointment on Monday. My glasses are coming apart and I think my vision might be getting worse. While at Walmart, I bought a Coffee Pod Holder

Then we went gambling and I won over $100. I only gambled around $35 and left with $140 so I totally made a profit.

All in all, it’s been a pretty good day.
