Pirate Prompt,Racism & Migraines..Oh My!

The Prompt per The Confusing Middle this week is the word, ‘Pirate’. He posts a word every week to write about. I suggest you check out the site…After you read this…I don’t have all night to wait, you know… Anyway, so this week’s word is Pirate because I believe ‘Talk Like A Pirate Day” is coming up. Personally, that’s not my thing. Plus, how can we still have that when they won’t even make ‘Peter Pan’ anymore?.. probably due to Pirate violence. Now, give me ‘Talk Like A Valley Girl Day’ or ‘Talk In Pig-Latin Day’ and I would be totally into those! Heck, I talk Valley Girl pretty much anyway since I am from California. I never actually lived in The Valley but the lingo is still here. Technically, I think Las Vegas is a Valley, I mean, we are surrounded by Mountains.

Don’t know if I mentioned but my Park Manager is Racist. She does not like people who don’t speak English and is apparently rude to them, plus, comments behind their backs to others. This better not cause a problem for the people buying my house! They don’t speak much English. But, they do already have a place here, so I am hoping that will help them get approved.

Started a Migraine last night which went all night and didn’t quit until this afternoon after a 2nd Imatrex. Luckily, I take Imatrex by halves so it only equalled one actual pill. It was horrible though, and not only on the opposite side of my head then usual but was mainly by my eye.

Oh well, I survived and am living to tell about it.

Expensive Popcorn & Life

Most of the movie theaters in Las Vegas are located in a casino. So, if you are a Gambler, the smell of theater buttered popcorn wafts toward you until you finally decide to give in.. until;

I go to the counter and order a small, buttered popcorn. I have a $5. bill to pay and the guy repeats my order and goes “Your total is $7.90”. I thought he was joking! I sort of giggled and said, “Yeah, Right.” and he goes, “No, really. It’s $7.90”. I go, “Never Mind. I am not paying $7 dollars for Popcorn.” and I came home and made it myself.

Well, the house has been sold again for what I hope is the final time. They are going to turn in the Background Check tomorrow. I am going to believe this is going to be the final time, as I continue to pray that it is.

Not Doing Things Today

I didn’t do anything I meant to, today.. like paperwork. But I did talk to and decide to try a different Realtor. I swear, these Realtors all start out gung ho and happy, then they fade into oblivion when they can’t find anything. Luckily, per Nevada law, I can switch as much as I want as long as I don’t sign anything, officially.

Watched some 9/11 shows since the 20th Anniversary is tomorrow. I do this every year as a reminder of something I will really never forget.

My Puma would have been 17 years old, today.

I miss my beautiful, Bengal (“Bear Cub)

The other day, I accomplished this!

My Ex’s Graffiti Tag was on it. So, I covered it up. He actually painted it originally, which is okay.

Lastly, we got some Monsoon Rain which was nice. Probably didn’t help our drought much and definitely didn’t cool us off, but better than nothing.

When Helping Makes Me Sad

Cin likes to help people, as do I; so upon leaving the grocery store,we saw a man struggling with bags of groceries. Cin drove over and asked him if he needed a ride, for which he was grateful. While going to his place, we got to talking about how he is a Christian and helps his neighbors, so I donated my current Homeless Bag to him to help. I offered to help carry his bags to his apartment, which was really close to the car… Here’s where the sad part comes in. … We put the bags in the doorway of an empty, apartment living room full of trash and 2-3 little children sitting in it. It wasn’t trash like animal waste and the children were clothed..but… I feel so sad. Seriously, there was NO furniture! I just wanted to hug them or take them out of there for a while. God knows what the bedroom/s look like. I wonder if they have beds or blankets..or believe or count on Santa Clause at Christmas! On the other hand, I believe they are fed.. what with all the food he got, and their clothes were decent and they have a roof over their heads.

I don’t know the situation but will be adding those, beautiful children onto my prayer list.

House Move Update

I don’t usually Post twice, but, since I sucked yesterday.

I spoke to a Realtor today. I am going to put my For Sale Sign up, tomorrow! Wish me luck!

I will keep cleaning and packing, as well.

If you know anyone interested, I am selling my mobile home in Riviera Mobile Home Park, 2038 Palm St, Las Vegas NV. I won’t add spc # here, though. It’s a 1-2 bedroom because the 2nd bedroom is actually surrounded by sliding doors, fresh paint outside, good roof, built in 63. The space Rent is $565 with pool, clubhouse, laundry room and car wash areas.

I am asking $10K or Best Offer.

Angry At The Source

Before I start this, I have an important Prayer Request:

My friend, Cin, is going to the doctor today to get a Lump on her Breast checked out. Please pray it is nothing or minor. Her appointment is in 1 1/2 hours. 1:00 p.m. Las Vegas time.

As for the title, Here is the situation:

Hot Topic does not communicate with the bank they do business with. Comenity! If you have a billing or payment issue, you need to call the bank, directly.

Comenity is refusing to take responsibility for their action of doing a Hard Pull which affected my credit report, after telling me it was their system error! They actually sent me a notice saying they will not fix this issue, as it would be a ” Good Will Gesture”. NO, it would be fixing their error! I am still waiting to see if Experian can fix things with them.

Anyway, I still like Hot Topic and will continue to purchase from them but will Not use their card. It will be Cash or Debit from now on! Comenity also is behind the cards of Victoria’s Secret, Wayfair, Woman Within, and more!

So, the moral of this is; Do your research on the bank before signing up for the store card. Plus, when you get angry with a company, be sure it is with the right department!

I have now chosen to avoid cards backed by Comenity Bank, and I hope others do too.

Sneaky Doctor

So, I went to the Lab today for my Nephrologist and the Phlebotomist (that’s the one who takes blood, for those who don’t know) goes, “Does your insurance usually cover this?”. I’m like, “Yes, I never had a problem, before.”. Then she tells me the doctor added two tests (one a vitamin and one for Iron) that aren’t covered and cost $300 + dollars. I’m like, “Nope. Not paying for those.”. So, I had her delete them from the test. My appointment is on the 5th and if my Nephrologist (Kidney Specialist) says anything, I might just tell her if she wants to pay 300 or whatever dollars, I’ll go back and do it.

Speaking of money, …I was…. I gave a Homeless Bag to a guy who really needed it! Like this guy was totally shaking, and shuffling and in his own world. I don’t know if he was tripping on illegal drugs or what, Hey, maybe he was out of his medicine he can’t afford… it’s not my business. I did say an extra prayer for him, though. It made me feel good to help someone who Really needs it.

See you all tomorrow, and hopefully everyone will think of at least one thing they learned this week, to share with the class.HA! Haven’t decided yet if I will title it, ‘Saturday Share’ or ‘Sharing Saturday’. What sounds better?

7 Vegas Years

As of yesterday, I have lived in Las Vegas, NV for 7 Years (-5 months in AZ which was a waste of time).

Despite the weather at times, I still love it! The lights, the activity, the people! Even if I didn’t gamble, it’s fun to check out everything in the different hotels and casino’s.

Las Vegas is ever changing so things I remember from visiting when young are long gone, replaced with different things.

Do you like where you live? If money were no object, would you move somewhere else? As much as I like it here, sometimes I wonder about Europe like Austria. The houses are so pretty there in their little villages; but, then I wonder if I would get bored like I did in Arizona, once again coming back here. I have also considered Florida, but, there is to much rain and the size of the bugs there would keep me inside.

Doing a lot better than yesterday, but still a bit tired, so taking it easy, again.

Sinusy Me

It’s a Sinus Day. I see sleep in the near future.

I was kidding with a friend (Julestx51) because she was like this yesterday, and shared on WordPress. Thanks again. HA!

It’s Monsoon Season here and yesterday on the news, it said Nevada will be having another water shortage soon because the lake is so low; on the flip side, the weather said to expect Thunder Storms all week. Last I checked, most Thunder Storms bring rain, so can we say “Contradictory”?

Today And Tomorrow

Cleaned a third of the floor, today. When I decided to sweep and mop, I split the floor into like 4 sections and today was the 3rd. While, not a complaint necessarily, it is a bit warm for strenuous activity so this makes it, easier.

I was telling C. we need more murders! Not really..but my True Crime Channel keeps showing the same cases that I have already seen and most, I also have the book!

Hide from my Bible Study..WOW (Women Of Wisdom) group is taking me out for lunch tomorrow and since I need to eat Gluten-Free…until I get my Gluten Ease refilled…we are going to Vegenation. It is totally Vegan and the food is delicious. If you are a Vegetarian or Vegan, or even want to just try something healthy while in Las Vegas, I highly recommend it.
