We can thank Edward Hibbard Johnson for the invention of Christmas Lights on a string as he wanted to put Lights on a tree but candles were to dangerous. Lights are not only a Christian tradition; reminding you of the star that the Wise Men followed but they also represent the other nightly stars. I love Christmas Lights.
Heck, I simply love Lights, period. That’s one thing I love about Las Vegas. The lights, everywhere. It is so very pretty here at night.
*It was a rough morning… especially at feeding time. I just miss Puma watching me as I dish out the cat food, while waiting patiently. She had the most, beautiful, gold eyes. I wish this pain would go away fast, but, it’s only been 2 days. I did get dressed today so my BFF and I could FaceTime. It’s the little accomplishments and taking things one day at a time.
Since my immune system has never been like others; I get reactions when most people don’t. Which is what happened, yesterday.
C. and I were headed to our Covid Vaccine appointment when they called to reschedule; so we had an hour to kill. We went to McDonald’s, then to Home Depot where I picked some color swatches for the house. I think I will email them to the manager for approval
Upon arriving at the pharmacy, they checked us in and gave us a form to fill out which is simply a statistics sheet of where you fit in to be vaccinated..age range, race, reason (healthcare worker, disability, etc..). The pharmacist gave the usual spiel…could cause this, that, etc.. before giving the vaccine, then you had to wait 15 minutes before leaving. They set a timer.
Within 10 minutes, I was feeling a little dizzy. That passed, but then I developed a headache which turned into a Migraine within a few hours plus muscle aches. The Migraine finally stopped around 2:30 this morning after giving in to Imatrex around 10:30. The main problem now is the cough. It’s a dry cough and started some time during the night. And of course, I have no cough medicine.
I have to believe if the first dose affected me like this, the next dose should be easier, or at least I know what to expect. Maybe, I will just react opposite then most.
It’s a windy day anyway, so I am going to take it easy and stay warm.
C. had to pick up Ben from work so I asked if I could go along. We passed a restaurant that I cannot pronounce the name ‘Las Pupusa’. I tried it way to many times and even Googled it. I had C. cracking up by either adding too many poo’s,s’ss or la’s, and it wasn’t/isn’t deliberate. My letters just twist when I try to say the word.
After dropping Ben off, we decided to go gambling, again. This time at Rainbow Casino. It was really cool and they even gave us free gifts. C. loaned me $20 which I repaid her plus I even got to spin the wheel and won $50. on it. We also got $12.50 to spend at the restaurant but didn’t want to wait half hour. At least it’s good for 7 days. I left with $30 and bought us dinner at Denny’s.
Came home to find my clothes from Breezecloth.com arrived but don’t want to try them on til tomorrow. I was tired of smelling like smoke and needed to take a bath and crawl in bed. They look nice but the one pair of pants has cat faces with pink cheeks, so if I keep it, I will need to get purple fabric marker or paint to fill that in, before I wear them.
I have decided not to get new windows but to get the outside of the house painted, instead.
Well, I somehow forgot to post, yesterday since it was a draft so I posted it today; which means tomorrow might be todays Post…Have I lost you, yet?..But actually this is todays Post and I will still Post something tomorrow.
I took a nap today! That was my big excitement. Hey, when your my age, a nap is wonderful..especially when it isn’t induced by pain medication.
The other excitement was hearing a pounding on my door, I believe, and nobody being there. Even had a neighbor check it out for me.
Windy Weather equals sinus issues which equals Migraines. For most Migraine sufferers, most any change can cause a Migraine.
Woke up coughing and sneezing last night before getting hit with a Migraine this morning. Of course that means I took a Migraine pill then slept for 3 hours; so technically my day started around 3. What sucks about Migraines and sleep is that your body clock gets totally thrown off.
I have to admit I am a bit concerned with my Migraines and my upcoming Covid Vaccine…which is on Monday…I have heard the vaccine can cause headaches.
I took a picture of the moon tonight. The sky is clear and the moon is interesting…it has sort of an orb around it.
I was feeling better today and C. needed to get pajamas to wear to her Sleep Study so she picked me up. We went to a thrift store and I bought a book and a stuffed tiger. C. likes tigers and her Birthday is approaching. Plus, some of those stuffed animals at those places just call to you…sort of like real ones at a shelter..”Take me, I need love.” Unfortunately, C. did not find pajamas there, so we went to Walmart, where she did. Then she wanted to go to lunch at Arizona Charlie’s Casino. The problem with that is we would want to gamble and I had no money so I said Okay and asked her to loan me a $20. After paying back her $20, I left the casino with $120. and C. made $60-80. It was awesome! I put it in the bank and then came home and ordered a few things.
Just finished dinner and dishes and getting really tired, now.
I hope you all had a good St. Patrick’s Day, if you celebrate. I will add that it’s a bit sad how many people don’t. I like most any Holiday where I can dress up and have fun!
Got out today, despite the rain. And it rained pretty good, at times.
C. took me to pick up my glasses and the reading aspect is amazing! The distance, I am still getting used to.
Then we went to Port-Of-Subs where I picked up food before coming home and starting on my 100 piece puzzle.
It’s the top one of the two calicoes. The bottom one is 250 pieces. I think I will do okay with this as, I’ve already got the frame and a few of the middle pieces together and I believe doing puzzles keeps your mind sharp with problem solving or logic. Gotta double check on that.
Not to concerned with the cats knocking the puzzle over while in progress because I have it hidden so well, I’ll bet you can’t even see it.
I’ll give you a hint: It’s not in the puzzle box. Can you guess?
I am selling the Washer & Dryer that J gave me since they don’t fit. If you know anyone here in Vegas or Henderson, please pass the word. $200. for both and they work fine.
Taking another break from the news, soon. So frustrated with this world. Did you hear about Dr. Suess books being banned because some of his characters could have been considered racist in their appearance?
I am getting so tired of the Bullshit and also seriously concerned for our future.
Slavery cannot even be spoken of.. What’s next? If you were forced to burn your books because of the topics of slavery or race; how would you feel? This is the stuff that happened to the Jews before the Holocaust! We need to try to fight this Idiocy, but how? And, what if they go after our Bible? It’s full of history with wars and slavery.
While this isn’t necessarily about the physical book type items, we can’t let it confuse us. There were Slaves and the Holocaust did happen! Gender is assigned at birth and nothing really changes that. Girls played house with dolls and were taught to be wives and mothers; and boys played with trucks and looked forward to fighting in wars or working in the mud. Boys didn’t care to see dolls in the stores and girls knew trucks and cars were in the Boys Toys section.
We have to hang on to what we know as the truth in our history or history is doomed to repeat itself.
