Saturday Sharing

One thing I learned this week from doing research is the law in Nevada that animals are not necessarily taken away from Abusers unless they have been abused 3 times! I have also discovered that my Ex is in jail and hope he stays there so the organization can save Bruno.

I have also had the reminders of giving control to God and trusting in him when I am under stress and unable to change a situation.

As well as, to stop allowing people to use me and not do their jobs, correctly. I am waiting on a call from the Manager of my Mortgage Girl! I am tired of her lack of communication and Follow-Thru.

What have you learned or been particularly reminded of, this last week?

Received my Secret Santa Gifts today and am really excited! I can’t wait to move and set up my new place! The person that had me spent about $40-50!

You Share: Tell me what you like/dislike about the entertainment industry. Any celebrity encounters? Have you ever been on TV? What was your first CD?

To Play: Answer these questions in a blog post of your own and link back to this post. You may put your answer in Bold or Italics and share your thought process behind each answer, if you want. If you haven’t participated in any of the first three weeks, you can still participate this week!

Good luck!

When I was 6, I was on a television show titled, ‘Juvenile Jury’. I even have a copy of one of the episodes I was on from Sony Studios.

As for Celebrity encounters, Clint Eastwood came to my work and I have a picture with him, and I believe Michael Phelps also visited. While on a cruise to Mexico, Mr. Whipple from the Charmin commercial was on the cruise. While I didn’t meet him due to seasickness; he gave me a card and a picture of his family with his real name and “Please don’t squeeze the Charmin!”. The last celebrity would be Donny Osmond, my childhood dream, who I met a few years ago after their show here in Vegas.. before it closed. Don’t ask me what I babbled about. I think I was in shock!

Saving Bruno

Last year, my dog, Bruno..whom I gave to my Ex…was in the Animal Shelter. I was working with A Path For Paws where I originally adopted him, but, D. got him back before they could. The Volunteer came back today, informing me that Bruno is back in the shelter for the 3rd time! I immediately filled out the form and gave them my info so they can take him and find him a home. D. was caught dragging and kicking Bruno and since it’s the 3rd time, he is NOT getting him back. Please pray for my puppy… Okay, he is like 5 or 6 now..to heal from any physical or emotional wounds that he has endured and he finds another home, soon. I still can’t take him because

A). He doesn’t get along with cats

B) I am moving, soon.

I will post his picture when I get one and the rescue info if you know anyone interested.

I am making no excuses for D. and his drug addiction. He is obviously hitting the bottom.

I am extremely thankful that God gave me the courage to get out of that relationship/marriage.

Matching Day

I didn’t do much today like cleaning, which I meant to do because it is Matching Day for the Reddit Secret Santa Exchange. There is another one coming next month, but the Big and Final one is in November.

Anyway, this one is for Colors and my Match lives in California and I had fun finding a few things to match his interests and those of his wife. Cin is also going to crochet some Pot Holders in their favorite color for me. I also helped TxFriend find something for her Match who is a Grandma decorating a Nursery. It was almost to bad we couldn’t trade, because I love decorating!

My Match hasn’t been pulled yet, but it’s only the first day. They actually have until the 1st or 2nd to mail. I just hope they like the color, Purple. No, not the movie.

*Update- My Match pulled my information and shipped my gift as I was typing my blog. Yay!

This morning was another Migraine morning and the Hemp/CBD Oil is not helping at all! I sort of wonder if it could be making them worse.

The company has a great Return Policy with a full refund, but I had to get my Debit Card replaced and changed so I might see if they can refund it by check. I don’t know if they will, but it’s worth a try to ask.

Not Phone Fun +

Cin and I are getting tired of updating our phones but..the previous phones barely worked. The reception was terrible with pretty much text only going through. So, we went back to Cricket who gave us each a Motorola Power instead. It’s nice, it’s a well-known brand and…it works!

Other than that, let me tell you about the book deal I got at Smiths today… Kroger, for some of you. While waiting for my prescription, I was perusing the books and saw a few with stickers reading ‘List Price $1.99’ so I picked one up. The register rang it up as $7.99 so the girl got the Manager. The Manager said she had never seen that sticker before, but they sold it to me for the sticker price of $1.99! Truthfully, I think an employee may have screwed up when marking some of the books, but, I am definitely not complaining.

Stress Life & Phone Plan

The weekend was busy.  Not sure if in a good way.

The government is helping to pay for people’s phones and plans through Cricket..and a few other companies…so I will only have to pay $5.00 a month for the next 6 months.  This included a new phone which is annoying to get set up. Unfortunately, the reception really sucks between Cin and me, as well as, between me and another friend in Henderson.  Yet, my friend in Texas can hear me clearly.

So, we got the phones on Friday, then went gambling where the machines refused to pay out.  This was our 2nd or 3rd time at Emerald Island, so we have decided not to return there.  Pizza Hut was good.  Got the $11.99 Family Meal each and still have some left.  Couldn’t find the movies we wanted to watch for free, though, so wound up watching television.  Of course, sleeping at someone else’s house is never the same, so that threw my body off, too.

Today, we went back to Cricket to sort out some stuff on the phones..here, is hoping the reception will “fix itself through the transition”..per the girl at the store..then came home with a Migraine from Hell.

Took 2 Imatrex or one full one.  Part of it could be stress over the phone plan, the fact Cins’ cars air-conditioning doesn’t work and the fact that I am running out of anti-rejection meds again. Gotta figure out just what my brother is covering, so I can start budgeting for them, better.

Anyway, looking forward to going to sleep without drugs (Imatrex) now, so, have a great night!

Saturday Sharing

Welcome to todays installment of What I Learned This Week.

Please join the discussion in the Comments

First, I learned if you switch phone plans and phones periodically, you can really save money!  Cricket had a great deal which included a Free Phone at $5.00 a month for the next 6 months with Autopay. This is actually a government program for those who qualify, and the phone is a Cricket Ovation 2 with 5 g. which is really good.

The 2nd thing I learned is about the Tarantula:

The male Tarantula is the one that goes looking for a mate. If he sees a nest and maybe a females leg hanging out of it, he knocks…. Pay close attention to the next part. It’s funny and creepy as hell….The female meets the male at the entrance and if she likes him, she approves. If she doesn’t like him. She eats him! Imagine? Knock..Knock… “Hello,. Oh Hell No, You are totally ugly and have an attitude. But, I am hungry and now you won’t waste anyone else’s time!”…

Oh, but it gets worse..

.So, the female has approved. Now the male…. probably to make sure the female doesn’t change her mind…stuffs his ladies mouth with some webbing..a gag, if you will….Bet, you never knew Tarantulas were kinky! But alas, their not. He has to use his hands/claws/legs? to get his juices/etc and put them inside the woman…How sadly unromantic is that?

I also learned a male Tarantula can live 12-14 years, if he doesn’t get eaten.

I actually learned more about Tarantulas but am starting to get itchy writing this, so I will end, here.

Looking forward to hearing/reading what you learned.

Word Prompt & Date

The Confusing Middle at Confusingmiddle.wordpress.com gives us a word or Prompt each week, and this week is the word, ‘Relax’ so I am sharing the song I grew up with:

Just say the word and I will start singing!

Watch “Frankie Goes To Hollywood – Relax (Laser Version)” on YouTube

Today is Friday-The-13th and no, I am not superstitious.

Although, I do recommend keeping any black cats inside for their health and safety. A lot of Idiots out there!

I told Jason to stay inside and behave! I don’t want to come home to neighbors having been murdered, tomorrow.

Going to Cin’s tonight for pizza and movies.

TO PLAY: Answer the questions above in a blog post of your own and link me to it, so I can see it. If you didn’t participate in Week 1 or 2 of The Blogger Games, no problem! You can still take part this week.

If you don’t feel like writing out your answer, you may put it in bold or italics.

My Responses:

The Toilet Paper should always be over, plus, in a cabinet so my cats don’t mess with it. They can be quite artistic, in that aspect.

And as for French Fries, I don’t really like Fast Food Fries. Though, my favorite is Del Taco, which I grew up on.

I am more of a True Crime buff and only read certain types of Fiction.

I am Not a morning person so I mostly choose Stay Up Late!

Also, just to clarify: My blog is actually Midlife Cat Lady and I go by Venus. I don’t think the title of Cats And Coffee will link.
