Prompt = Father

This Prompt it brought to you by Peckapaloosa over at The ConfusingMiddle.com. If you haven’t checked out his site, you should! After, you read this Post…and, be careful! No running with scissors or knives… Okay, now that that’s covered:

I am not really into Father’s Day anymore, since my Father has passed. My Mother is also gone but I have friends who are Mother’s plus, I am an animal Mother..but, I digress;

Growing up as a Catholic, we used to call our Priest, “Father” which I now know is totally wrong, for many reasons.

The only one I call and actually have for a “Father” is God! He is the Father,Son and Holy Spirit. He is here to listen when I need to talk and teaches me patience, as well, as the right way to live. He understands me and we have a good relationship. My earthly Father, I called, ‘Dad’ and you bet I miss him. I was a ‘Daddy’s Girl’ but, I am still Christ’s Child and he has taken over since my earthly parents have gone.

Truthfully, I believe they should call ‘Father’s Day’ ‘Dad’s Day’. But, that’s just my opinion.

  1. I never call my dad Father for that very reason. Somewhere along the line I learned that God is our only father, so dad became dad or more recently for some odd and unknown reasons, poppa.

  2. I am not a lover of any holiday. I do not need the calendar to flip to July 4th to show my patriotism, and I do not need the Calendar to say “Memorial Day” to appreciate all my fallen comrades, and I do not need to wake up to the 4th Thursday in November to show thanks to those that make my life great.
