First Vaccine Experience

Since my immune system has never been like others; I get reactions when most people don’t.  Which is what happened, yesterday.

C. and I were headed to our Covid Vaccine appointment when they called to reschedule; so we had an hour to kill.  We went to McDonald’s, then to Home Depot where I picked some color swatches for the house.  I think I will email them to the manager for approval

Upon arriving at the pharmacy, they checked us in and gave us a form to fill out which is simply a statistics sheet of where you fit in to be vaccinated..age range, race, reason (healthcare worker, disability, etc..).  The pharmacist gave the usual spiel…could cause this, that, etc.. before giving the vaccine, then you had to wait 15 minutes before leaving.  They set a timer.

Within 10 minutes, I was feeling a little dizzy.  That passed, but then I developed a headache which turned into a Migraine within a few hours plus muscle aches.  The Migraine finally stopped around 2:30 this morning after giving in to Imatrex around 10:30.  The main problem now is the cough.  It’s a dry cough and started some time during the night.  And of course, I have no cough medicine.

I have to believe if the first dose affected me like this, the next dose should be easier, or at least I know what to expect.  Maybe, I will just react opposite then most.

It’s a windy day anyway, so I am going to take it easy and stay warm.

  1. Oy..I am sorry that happened…my hope is that it will go normal for you the next time. MY sister just got her second one today and so far so good but she hasn’t planned anything for the next few days just in case.

My second one is in about three weeks and I am not expecting any thing to be different then last time.

PS. guess what I got yesterday?

  2. What you are experiencing will indeed pass. I too got a headache and felt very fatigued for a couple of days. I feel 100% again, the sore spot on the injection site is gone too. The wind is insane, isn’t it? It’s making my house go crack! I’m staying today, nice and toasty in the house, you stay warm!
